The Best Coffee Shops in Boulder
Calling all coffee lovers! If you’ve taken a stroll through Boulder, you know there’s a delicious cup of freshly brewed coffee waiting for you at nearly every corner. But, for the coffee connoisseurs that need an extra bold pour, we’ve found the best of the best for you. Here are a few of the must-stop coffee shops here in Boulder.
Service, quality, community, and sustainability is what Ozo Coffee Founder Justin Hartman prides his business on. Ozo sources all its ingredients from Organic, Fair Trade, and Rainforest Alliance Certified manufacturers so you know you’re getting the best quality possible. Sit inside for a quaint and quiet place to work or study, or sit outdoors to sip and soak in the views of the Flatirons. Located right in the heart of Boulder, it doesn’t get much better than this.
They’ve even got a new #MugshotMonday contest where you can post a picture with your Ozo coffee for a chance to win free drinks, merch, and even a coffee subscription!
Seen a blue 1971 Volkswagen van driving around lately? Carabiner Coffee puts a spin on your typical coffee shop – a cafe and coffee shop on wheels! In addition to loving the outdoors themselves, the Carabiner Coffee crew wanted to find a way to get a cup of joe-to-go, to all of Colorado’s adventure seekers, hikers, climbers, and bikers, so they’re bringing the coffee to you!

Established in 1979, Trident Booksellers and Cafe is the oldest standing coffee shop in Boulder. If you’re looking for a good book, a quiet place to read, and a locally roasted espresso, this Buddhist bookshop has got it all.
Warm summer nights make Trident all the more fun. Every Sunday join fellow community coffee lovers out on the patio for Trident’s Summer Film Series at 8:00 pm to catch a great film with your friends. The Tune Up
A Boulder fave bike shop, Full Cycle, has combined Colorado locals two favorite things: coffee and cycling. While your bike is getting a tune-up in the repair shop, head over to The Tune Up cafe for your own caffeine-filled fix! The cafe features Boulder’s newest craft coffee roaster, Ampersand Coffee Roasters, as well as local craft brews, kombucha, cider, and wine. Stop by after your next ride, or join fellow Boulder cyclists on Wednesdays for Trivia Night and Saturday’s for Open Mic Stand Up Comedy!
The Laughing Goat
With multiple locations throughout Boulder, as well as a hotspot on the CU Boulder campus, The Laughing Goat is an independently-owned coffeehouse with locally roasted, organic espresso and grab-and-go snacks, plus wine, beer, and live music.
A studious place to work during the day quickly turns into a fun place to socialize with friends and coworkers by 4:00 pm when happy hour hits and the nightly live entertainment comes on. Head to their website to check out their locations and who’s performing next!
