Disc golf has grown quite a bit since it’s inception, beginning with trashcan targets and evolving into the goals seen today at disc golf courses in Boulder. Also called frisbee golf, it’s easy to learn and suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Boulder has a number of disc golf courses, all of which would be a great way to spend a fall afternoon!

Valmont Disc Park

Located on Valmont Road just northeast of downtown Boulder, Valmont Disc Park offers 18 holes across a range of terrains. The first half are around a cactus hill, so be sure to bring the right shoes. You’ll then head into the prairie, around a ridge, and end in a grassy area.

There are restrooms on the course, and a number of picnic tables. We’d recommend grabbing dinner to-go and enjoying a brisk fall evening with great food and great company. Winner buys drinks when you get back?

Harlow Platts Park

Harlow Platts Park is located in South Boulder, and is local favorite with its serene lake and variety of amenities. Their disc golf course offers 9 holes in an open, hilly area that also has multiple pins at each hole.

After your game, take a stroll around the lake and throughout the walking paths. With beautiful views of the Flatirons, this may just be the most scenic disc golf course in Boulder!

Waneka Lake Disc Golf Course

With 18 holes around the lake, Waneka Lake Disc Golf Course is located east of downtown Boulder in Lafayette. Enjoy beautiful views on the water as you head to each hole, then enjoy a meal at one of the picnic tables.

This disc golf course is about a 20 minutes drive from Peloton West, but the serene lake and longer course definitely makes it worth the drive.
