Best Quiet Date Night Restaurants in Boulder

Boulder is home to some of the best restaurants in Colorado, but not all are perfect when you want a quiet evening with your beau. Our favorite quiet date night restaurants in Boulder are a mix of casual and formal, but all are perfect for putting away your phones and enjoying each other’s company.

River and Woods

River and Woods is an American style restaurant specializing in comfort foods, like their decadent mac ’n cheese. They call their menu “crowd sourced cuisine”, and take submissions for monthly menu changes.

This unique concept brings the recipe owners’ into the kitchen for a private tasting, and they can also help name the dish. What a great way to involve the Boulder community!

Diners call out their attention to detail and the atmosphere, making it a local favorite. Their outdoor seating is perfect for a warm evening, spent sipping a drink after the week.

Basta

Located just steps from your home, Basta is an Italian eatery offering a variety of small plate options, and some of the best pizza in Colorado. Their unique cocktail selection and extensive wine and local beer selection makes this one of our favorite spots.

The proximity doesn’t hurt, either! This nearby date night spot in Boulder offers a quiet place to reconnect and enjoy delicious food.

Black Cat Bistro

Black Cat Bistro is a farm to table bistro in Boulder, and is another local favorite. The founders’ commitment to unique, high quality, and organic food is seen throughout Boulder. In fact, they supply Black Cat, the Boulder Farmers’ market, and CSAs through their 130-acre Certified Organic farm.

We highly recommend the Chef’s Tasting Menu, featuring the daily menu changes that make Black Cat a unique favorite in Boulder.

Blackbelly Market

Blackbelly’s mission is to serve food from exceptional sources, and they’ve certainly accomplished that. This full-service restaurant (and its Chef) have won multiple awards, and is perfect for a quiet date night in Boulder.

Their minimally designed space lets the food be the focus, and it definitely delivers. Their array of starters, roasted meats, and delectable desserts are all sure to please. They offer a number of dining options, including indoor and outdoor seating.

The location may seem a bit strange as it sits near a Quiznos, but it’s definitely worth the drive to East Boulder.
