3 Interior Design Trends to Keep an Eye on in 2021

New year, new home decor, anyone? We believe that freshening up our living spaces is a great way to get the new year off on the right foot.

It can be hard to pick a look and design “theme” that we love and want to commit to. So, we’ve rounded up three of our favorite design styles and trends that we believe will be growingly popular in 2021.

Keep reading for ultimate inspo for taking your Peloton West home to the next level design-wise!

Cottagecore & Rustic Touches

Cottagecore, AKA the idealization of rustic western lifestyles, has taken over pop culture and the design world by storm this year. We don’t expect this nostalgic trend to end anytime soon.

To channel this popular aesthetic in your home, bring in neutral tones, vintage pieces (like dishware and furniture), and of course, plenty of dried/fresh flowers and plants.

Pro tip: look for reclaimed wood furniture pieces with plenty of character (i.e., grain and texture.) Pieces that aren’t perfectly smooth will help elevate your cottagecore style!

Mountain Sky Blues

For this trend, we’re taking a page from Benjamin Moore’s book. The paint company has deemed 2021’s color of the year to be Aegean Teal, and who are we to argue?

After 2020, we all could use a little sense of wonder and adventure in our daily lives. This wanderlust-invoking color and all other shades of sky blue are an excellent place to start. We love the idea of bringing remnants of bold Boulder skies into our homes while simultaneously inspiring ideas of travel and journeys into the unknown.

Try a bold blue accent wall, or if you’re not ready to commit, a few blue-hued pillows or picture frames.

Bon voyage!

Industrial Inspiration

Fuss-free and straightforward style may make an appearance in 2021, and we’re here for it. Try stacking crates, opting for darker and more functional furniture, and creating more open spaces to achieve this look.

Bonus tip: we think decorating in this style could really elevate our loft units (that have exposed ceilings and other industrial touches). And, lucky for you, we still have a limited few loft homes available!
